About Me

I am a Registered Clinical Social Worker with a Master of Social Work (Clinical Specialization). I am a member in good standing with the Alberta College of Social Workers and Perinatal Mental Health Certified.

I am  experienced in working with individuals going through life transitions, relationship stress, anxiety and panic, depression, stress, grief and loss, family dynamics, trauma, self-esteem, confidence building, setting boundaries, and chronic health issues or life-altering illness, amongst many other concerns.

I have always enjoyed working with families and supporting parents to raise their little ones while also maintaining their own mental health and sense of self. Working with women's health and pelvic pain, folks who are pursuing parenthood, in the perinatal/postpartum phase, or experiencing infertility are additional areas of interest.

Life does not always look how you expected or hoped that it would, which is oftentimes a difficult adjustment.  Sometimes long-term counselling is needed to deal with hurtful experiences in the past, while other times a stressful event occurs that might need just a few meetings to address. My aim from the start of the counselling journey is to ensure that you feel empowered, hopeful and that there is a plan in place to help you to start feeling better. I work to create a welcoming, non-judgemental and safe space for all those I meet with. I can offer new skills and different perspectives to combine with your strengths and experience to help you achieve your goals.

I am able to offer direct billing to Alberta Blue Cross and Greenshield. I always recommend checking to ensure your insurance will cover our sessions prior to attending the first one.

What to Expect

Prior to our first session, I will ask that you complete an intake form and consent forms. The first appointment typically starts with a discussion about expectations and confidentiality, as well as addressing any questions or concerns you might have. You will be invited to share about what brings you in to see me, and what is going on in your life. I will usually ask questions to learn more about you. By the end of the first appointment I will always ask you about your priorities and goals.

The frequency of appointments depends on your concerns, your availability and your preference.
